Our Mr. Men Story - - Mr. Tripalot

Mr. Tripalot lived in a small town called Tripsytown. Mr. Tripalot was known around town for always tripping. His arms are much too short to reach his shoes, which meant his shoes were always untied. Mr. Tripalot tripped over every little thing. Carpet - trips. Rocks - trips. Lego - trips. Air - yes, you guessed it, he trips.

One day Mr. Tripalot went for a walk around town. Along the way, he tripped over the ground, a sidewalk crack, a puppy, a garbage can, a ladybug, a button and poor old Mr. Silly.

He noticed a sign that said "The Glass Factory - Now Hiring!" He decided to apply and after much consideration, he was hired by Mr. Silly.

The next day, he headed to the glass factory for his first day on the job. On the way, he only tripped over a mouse and poor old Mr. Silly - again! He walked into the factory ready to start his day but accidentally tripped over his shoelace and knocked over a vase. "Oopsey-daisy" said Mr. Tripalot.

He headed into the plate room and tripped over a nail on the floor and knocked over 15 plates. "Oopsey-daisy" said Mr. Tripalot.

He moved into the expensive super rare glass area and tripped over poor old Mr. Silly. This time he just bumped one vase.... But the vase bumped into another vase, which bumped into another one.... Let's just say, the dominos game ended with glass everywhere. "Oopsey-daisy" said Mr. Tripalot.

Lets just say, working at the glass factory did not work out for Mr. Tripalot. On his way home, he tripped over a piece of paper that said "Now Hiring at The Bouncy Castle".

Mr. Tripalot turned out to be the best Bouncy Castle Employee they've ever had.

The End

Things have been so busy in our classroom that we haven't had time to post a lot of photos! Here are some of our favourite memories from the last couple months!

Well this is awkward...

We haven't blogged in a VERY LONG TIME!
We've just been busy with work and other fun things!

This week we travelled to MEXICO! We are learning about Volcanoes, Art, Food, the language, the history, about the money and so much more while we are in MEXICO! We made Mexican dot art - some people made turtles, lizards or snakes! We used q-tips and dipped them into paint and put the dots around the animals!

In math we are learning FRACTIONS and we did math centres. Here are some fractions about our class...
10 are girls and...

New Year!

Today we had our ice cream sundae party! We earned one because our class alone raised $304 for the Jingle Bell hop! We had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, smarties, nibs, marshmallows, caramel and chocolate sauce. They were delicious!

We had math centres this week! One cool one was the QR centre. You pick a problem, you answer it and then you scan the QR code with your iPad and it gives you the answer - if you're right you give yourself a check mark and if you're wrong you get an X and you have to fix it!

We are learning about magnets! The new pennies are made of nickel and iron so they stick to a magnet, but the old pennies are made of copper and do not stick to the magnets! Also, american coins are not magnetic! Each time you drop a magnet, it loses it magnetism! Soooo.. don't drop a magnet!

Next Tuesday is our fun lunch!

Have a great weekend!

Back to School in a New Year!

Welcome to Room 10's exciting 2016!

This week we made firework art! We used black paper and we blew paint with straws to make them look like fireworks. Then, we cut out a city line and put it on top of it to make it look like fireworks over the city!

We did a New Year, New Me mobile! We had to come up with goals for school and home and make some wishes for the new year!

We are writing about our winter break! Here are some of the things we did over the holidays...
- sledding
- skating
- ate lots of food
- playing hockey
- lots of us saw the new Star Wars movie
- opened presents
- spent time with family
- and so much more....

We had a new student in our class named Aiden! He waves hello.
We also have a new EA in our class named Mr. Walker. He waves hello.

Have a great weekend.

Love,
