This was a supercalifragalisticexpealadocious week!

This week was a lot of eating! We ate Cheetos, lucky charms, chocolate coins.
Lots of fun! And the choir kids had pizza lunch to!

We did new math centers and we finished them this week! They were all about estimation!

We are learning about Ted Harrison. He is a great artist from the Yukon! He uses bright colours and leaves a line between the colours. We did our own Ted Harrison art! We used glue to make the lines and water colour to paint! They turned out awesome!

This week was St. Patrick's day! We had to do a treasure hunt for gold, did lucky charms math,  pand wrote leprechaun comic strips!

Today is the first day of spring and international happy day! We wrote each other notes to make each other happy and smile!

Next week is spirit week!! Make sure to check the list in the agenda for all our fun activities!

Have a great weekend and dress warm, it's going to cool off again.

What a short week!!

We started learning about Nunavut! So far we have learned there is 34,000 people living there, people used to use dog sleds to get around, in the summer there's still ice on the ocean, there's not a lot of people but there's a whole lot of land, and the Inuit people's speak Inuktitut there.

Yesterday we started learning about estimation in math! Estimation is about making a good guess! You don't have to be exact - you can be 5 more or 5 less. So for example, if the answer is 42, then your guess has to be between 37 and 47!

Tonight and tomorrow morning is parent teacher concferences! We are going to show off all the stuff we have been learning!

Remember - tomorrow is no school! Have a great LONG weekend!

The Fantastic Week

This week was fun because we made a huge map of Canada. It started off blank on a wall with just words on it, then we picked colours for each province. We ripped construction paper and glued it onto the map of Canada.

We also had math centers - the best Center was the race to $1.00 game! It was fun because you had to roll and take the amount of cents and as you rolled, you need to keep track of your coins and keep trading them in for bigger coins.

We did animal life cycle research projects. Each group....
1. Looked at animal books
2.  found cool facts and wrote them down on post-it's.
3.  organized our information
4.  turned it into a piece of writings and made a poster.

Have a good warm weekend!
