This week was our last week of school! We made our christmas cards and gifts for our parents!

You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread Man!

Run, Run, My name is Pat,
You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread cat!
- Emery

Run, Run, I have a hat
You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread cat!
- Mahina

Skip, Skip, Leap and Twirl,
You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread girl!
- Hayley

Today, we had a pajama board game party! We played Don't Wake Daddy, Battleship, Tell Tale, Connect 4, Sorry, Guess Who, Yahtzee Jr, Busy town and so much more! We also had snacks for our party! Then we watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the Dr. Seuss cartoon one)!

Gingerbread Week = Part 1

This week we used the Elf Yourself App! You take pictures of your face and other peoples faces, and then you can move them into an elf's face and then you press a button that says "lets dance" and then you see all of the people in elf costumes dancing!! It was so fun and funny!!

This week we are working on gingerbread centres! There is measuring ones, there is games, there is lots of adding and patterning. You can decorate your gingerbread booklet too.

We read some books about gingerbread men and we wrote what our life would be like if we were a gingerbread man... For example...
  • We would life in gingerbread houses!
  • We would eat lots of candy!!
  • The best part of being a gingerbread person is that you would have lots of candy and you can do whatever you want and there are no rules!
  • The hardest part of being a gingerbread person is being on the floor and getting crushed and people would try to eat you!!!

This afternoon we are baking fresh gingerbread people. Then we are going to put candy and icing on them. And we can't wait to EAT THEM!!

Next week we will be doing MORE gingerbread fun like...
  • Gingerbread houses
  • New math centres
  • Readers Theatre
  • More gingerbread art!
It's going to be so fun! We only have 5 days left of classes until Christmas break!!

Have a great weekend!

Fantastic Yummy Week

This was a great week!

On Tuesday we made Bannock! It tasted so yummy. We ate it with jam and butter. It only took 5 ingredients - salt, melted butter, water, flour and baking powder. We all made our own pieces. It was fun to make but the best part was eating it!

Today we made snowman glyphs. You have to have three pieces of white paper and then Ms. Moffatt asks questions and lets say if you like sledding you use brown eyes and if you like skating you do black eyes.

This morning we took a picture with the whole school of us all wearing JERSEYS! Every kid and teacher had a jersey on!

Have a great weekend!

iPad Week

This week we played on the iPads. We learned about Winnipeg on it. We had to use the iPads to scan codes and then look for information! We also got free time with the iPads.

This week we were working on doubles. We did double centres.

We've been learning what Winnipeg used to look like....
Here are some facts...
- Aboriginal people would hunt the buffalo
- They used to live in tipis
- They moved wherever the buffalo would go
- They lived by the red river and assiniboine and red river
- They would eat deer, buffalo, fish, berries and bannock
Next week, we are making bannock!

We played the game BACON! Bacon is a really fun game and it's really silly. You have a use a dice that has a pig on it! If you get the pig, you get zero points. BUT if you sit down with your points BEFORE we roll a pig, you win the points!

Monday we are wearing hats and bringing in canned food for Winnipeg Harvest!

Have a great weekend!
