Fantastic Yummy Week

This was a great week!

On Tuesday we made Bannock! It tasted so yummy. We ate it with jam and butter. It only took 5 ingredients - salt, melted butter, water, flour and baking powder. We all made our own pieces. It was fun to make but the best part was eating it!

Today we made snowman glyphs. You have to have three pieces of white paper and then Ms. Moffatt asks questions and lets say if you like sledding you use brown eyes and if you like skating you do black eyes.

This morning we took a picture with the whole school of us all wearing JERSEYS! Every kid and teacher had a jersey on!

Have a great weekend!

iPad Week

This week we played on the iPads. We learned about Winnipeg on it. We had to use the iPads to scan codes and then look for information! We also got free time with the iPads.

This week we were working on doubles. We did double centres.

We've been learning what Winnipeg used to look like....
Here are some facts...
- Aboriginal people would hunt the buffalo
- They used to live in tipis
- They moved wherever the buffalo would go
- They lived by the red river and assiniboine and red river
- They would eat deer, buffalo, fish, berries and bannock
Next week, we are making bannock!

We played the game BACON! Bacon is a really fun game and it's really silly. You have a use a dice that has a pig on it! If you get the pig, you get zero points. BUT if you sit down with your points BEFORE we roll a pig, you win the points!

Monday we are wearing hats and bringing in canned food for Winnipeg Harvest!

Have a great weekend!

This was only a 3 day week but it was EXCITING!

Yesterday we built Wind Detectors out of recycled materials. We made to make sure to stick to our plan, use at least 3 items and make sure it makes noise without our hands moving it.
To test it, we put them in front of the fan and listened.
Then we took them outside to test them.
And guess what... EVERYONE'S WORKED!

Today we got to see a real owl. Dr. Duncan brought the owl named Nemo!
It was fantastic because we got to see it fly around the room. When it was flying, the wings bumped Brooke's brothers head and another girl! He landed on the computer and he looked at everybody like a showoff. We also got to learn about the pellets.

We started learning about Winnipeg! We played a game called Is it Winnipeg or Not?!?!
It was easy but fun! We had to look at pictures and choose if it was Winnipeg or not. There was pictures of Sansome School, the golden boy, the forks, skyscrapers.. BUT there was also pictures of France, Egypt, Disney Land, Dallas Cowboys stadium and the Boston Bruin arena. We had to make sure we looked carefully!

Have a good weekend!
